Leominster, MA: Luis Munoz Sr. passed away February 11, 2022 peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 15, 1952 in Puerto Rico. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Fransisca Munoz. He was one of nine children.
Luis was more than just the patriarch of our family; he was our rock, our north star, our heart and soul. He was a devoted family man, a helping hand, shoulder to lean on, and an educator at heart. He was always willing to share his wealth of knowledge and utilize his life experiences to teach those around him. He was our Mr. Miyagi. Whether it was help with the yard, home or work on your vehicle, Luis was the first to lend a hand or teach you how to do it yourself. If you were dealing with something, he was a shoulder to lean on or an ear to bend. If you had a wound or a bug bite, Dr. Luis was always in office.
Luis was a simple man who enjoyed fishing, listening to oldies, collecting antiques and old coins. More importantly, his deepest love was for his family. His bright smile, his infectious laugh, his recognizable accent and his big-hearted personality will be missed by many.
He is survived by the love of his life, his lifelong partner of 40 years, Cecile Legere; sons Luis “Citó” Munoz Jr. and Michael Quiles; daughters Sonia Munoz, Elizabeth Munoz, and Amanda Bourque; brothers Juan Muniz and Jose Munoz; sisters Hilda Cotto, Maria Cotto, Rosalia Munoz, Milagros Oja, Adelaida Huszar and Carmen Morales; grandchildren Jasmine Monge, Destinee and Brianna Martinez, Frederick Martinez III, Hannah Marcello-Munoz, Juan Carlos Cora Jr., Xavier Cora, Michael Quiles Jr., Mikayla Quiles, Elijah Munoz-Preko, Maliq and Aiden Bourque; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 6 PM to 8 PM at THE CURLEY MARCHAND FUNERAL HOME, 89 WEST STREET, LEOMINSTER. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 10 AM with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster, MA
