Obituary
Leominster MA: Lillian Ruth Spring, 79, passed away peacefully October 23rd in her home with loving family by her side. Lillian was born on November 27th, 1941 in Lowell, Massachusetts, the daughter of Ethel Southworth Perry and Joseph Perry.
Lillian was dedicated to serving others. Throughout her entire life, she took in many people into her home to provide them much-needed support. She worked as a counselor for people suffering with addiction, volunteered at the Leominster Senior Center, was a Sunday school teacher at Pilgrim Congregational Church, and was a strong advocate for education.
Lillian is survived by her longtime companion, David Goddard. She is also survived by two sisters Joan Gunnis and Carol Haley, her four children, Frederick R. Spring, Stephen D. Spring, Brenda E. Spring, and Robin Dowling, and four grandchildren, Jessica DeVarney, Brian DeVarney, Sydney Scott, and Lawrence Scott IV. She is pre-deceased by her siblings Kenneth Perry, Barbara Dexter, Janet Sheehan and Nancy LaBranche. Lillian leaves behind many loving relatives and dear friends.
Lillian Spring loved flowers. There will be calling hours on Wednesday November 3 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Her memorial service will immediately follow, on that same day, Wednesday, November 3 at 11:00 a.m. in THE CURLEY MARCHAND FUNERAL HOME, 89 West St. Leominster.
Following the service, family and friends are welcome to come together in Lillian’s home at 951 Lancaster Street Leominster in celebration of Lillian’s incredible eight decades of love and service.
On July 15th, 2022, Lillian’s ashes, upon her request, will be released into the ocean at Lobster Point Lighthouse on Marginal Way in Ogunquit, Maine at 6:00. All friends and family are invited.
