Joyce McCarthy, 69, of Holliston, died on May, 14, 2026. She was born on November 12, 1956, in Boston.
Joyce was the daughter of the late Helen L. (Stanley) McCarthy and Francis W. McCarthy, Sr. She was also predeceased by her brother, Francis W. McCarthy, Jr.
She was the loving mother of Alicia DeMarco of New Jersey and Meredith DeMarco of North Carolina. Joyce was the dear sister of Margaret Coughlin of Virginia, Phil McCarthy, and Joan McKenna both of Massachusetts. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Before her retirement, Joyce was Manager at a Borders Bookstores in New Jersey.
Joyce loved talking about growing up on Millwood Farm. She loved playing in the cornfields, wading in Baiting Brook on hot summer days with her sister, Joni, and sledding down Davy Crockett Hill with friends and family. Joyce was an accomplished horseback rider and spent many hours riding in the meadows with her very close friends.
Joyce had a wonderful sense of humor and could tell hilarious jokes and loved to tell funny stories.
Joyce was the loving devoted partner of Michael Greenburg of Holliston. Michael was the love of Joyce's life. After dating much earlier in their lives, they reconnected forty year later. Joyce being a voracious reader and Michael being an accomplished author, he loved bouncing ideas off of Joyce and valued her input. As Joyce's health failed, Michael was always at her side, attending to her every need, and trying to make her as happy and comfortable as possible.
