Rev. Gerard P. Walsh

Falmouth - Rev. Gerard P. Walsh, 74, was called home to the Lord on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Falmouth Hospital in Falmouth after months of declining health.

He leaves a brother, Thomas J. Walsh and his wife Eileen of Plymouth; several nieces and nephews including Daniel A. Walsh and his wife Lee Ann of Brighton. He also leaves many cousins both in this country and in Ireland.

He was born in Boston, the son of the late Daniel J. and Margaret (Kane) Walsh. He was predeceased by his brother Daniel F. Walsh of California.  Fr. Walsh graduated from Mission Church High School.  He received a BA degree from St. Bonaventure College in 1970 and completed his studies for the priesthood at St. Francis Seminary, Loretto, PA.

Father Walsh was ordained to the priesthood by Archbishop William A. Carew at St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton on May 25, 1974. He served the Diocese of Worcester until retiring in 2002.

The Funeral will be held on Monday (March 15) from, THE CURLEY MARCHAND FUNERAL HOME, 89 West St. Leominster, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Leo’s Church, 108 Main St. Leominster. Burial will be on Tuesday in New Calvary Cemetery in Mattapan at 11:00 AM.
