Arlene “Sis” Brooks Manning Couture

Arlene Couture passed away at her home in Florida on September 6 , 2024 with her family by her side.
She was born in 1936 in Leominster, MA to Edward and Arlene (Andrews) Brooks. She attended
Leominster High School and worked at Cluett and Peabody and Foster Grants in Leominster, MA. Later
in life, she moved to Florida where she worked at Publix Super Market until her retirement. Although
she lived in Florida for much of her adult life she always considered Massachusetts her home. She often
traveled back for visits with her sisters and for family gatherings and celebrations.
Arlene leaves behind her children Richard and John Manning of Florida and Teresa Gurgiolo (Frank) of
North Carolina. She is also survived by her grandchildren Brittany and Nicole of North Carolina and
Savannah of Florida as well as 5 great grandchildren. Arlene also leaves behind her sister Kathleen
Brooks Bergeron (Roger) of Leominster, Massachusetts.
Besides her parents Arlene was predeceased by her brother James Brooks and her sisters Maryjane
Cuddahy and Madeline Hildreth.
A funeral mass will be held on October 12th at 10:00 a.m at St. Leo Church in Leominster, MA. Burial will
follow at St. Leo Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
